SEO Code of Ethics

Promote SEO Code of Ethics

The SEO Industry has no standardized ‘SEO code of Ethics’, but there are a number of practices that are widely accepted as unethical or ‘Black Hat’. These practices often trick clients by showing a quick up-tick in visits, followed by a decline leaving the site in a worse place than when it started. This is done by optimizing for popular but unrelated searches, creating bots, spamming and other means that Google will eventually penalize your site for, and which frankly will hurt your company’s brand name in online circles. Not to mention, you won’t see improved sales for even the short time you see the increase in visits because much like you were tricked into hiring the company, visitors were tricked into going to your site (if they were even real, often the visits are just bots).

nPromote takes pride in providing outstanding SEO and internet marketing services and securing exceptional results for our clients. For each client, we have a clear vision on ethical SEO practices – and we achieve results without having to resort to the kind of “shortcut” or “Black Hat” tactics that could potentially land websites in a much worse position than where they started.

We promise to adhere to the following standards when planning and executing our search engine strategies:

  • All nPromote Search Engine Optimization operations are carried out in line with laws and regulations set forth by the agencies of the US and International Governments for business, cyber and internet regulation.
  • When working together with our clients we interact with them just as we would our own staff members and we show the same care we would when working with our own brand.
  • We’ll never risk the business or brand reputation of our clients by getting involved in unethical practices to improve search engine ranking.
  • At all times, we’ll abide by the conditions of use specified by the different search engines and directories we use.
  • We’ll always act in good faith to provide honest and appropriate direction to every client.
  • Confidentiality is something we take very seriously. We’ll never share details of our clients, their business operations and their SEO results, unless expressly agreed upon in writing.
  • nPromote will never use ‘Black Hat’ tactics to elevate search engine rank for our clients. We will not use linkfarms, hidden links and text, copied content, unauthorized software, doorway pages, or plagiarism.
  • We will never take on another client in the same niche, creating a conflict of interest.
